Help when you need it most
Support that comes
to you.
It is 2am. Your baby has been cluster feeding for hours and you are exhausted, sore, and not sure what you are doing wrong. The last thing you need is to get in a car, pack a diaper bag, and navigate to an office while running on no sleep.
The early postpartum period is one of the most demanding experiences a parent can go through — and feeding struggles do not wait for convenient office hours. They happen at midnight, on weekends, and on the days when leaving the house feels completely impossible.
That is exactly what virtual lactation support is for. Within hours of booking, you can be on a video call with an experienced lactation professional — from your bed, your nursery, your living room, or wherever you and your baby happen to be.
No driving. No parking. No dragging a newborn across town. Just the support you need, right where you are, whenever you need it most.

Your virtual visit
What to expect
during your appointment
A virtual lactation visit is a real consultation — not a phone call or a quick Q&A. You will have dedicated time with an experienced lactation professional who can observe a live feeding, watch how you position and latch your baby, see your pump setup, and provide guidance in real time.
You will leave the appointment with a personalized care plan, clear next steps, and answers to all of your questions. Most parents feel significantly more confident and less overwhelmed by the end of the call.
And here is the most important thing: you do not need a perfect setup. Real life with babies is welcome here. Your background does not need to be tidy. Your baby does not need to cooperate. You can be in your pajamas. That is what this is for.

Why virtual works
The benefits of virtual
lactation support
For many families, virtual is not just convenient — it is the right choice for where they are right now.
No Driving With a Newborn
Getting in a car with a brand-new baby is exhausting and stressful. Virtual visits remove that barrier completely.
Faster Access to Care
Virtual appointments are available quickly — often same day or next day — so you do not have to struggle alone while waiting for an opening.
Flexible Scheduling
Book around your baby's naps, your work schedule, or your partner's availability. Evenings and weekends available.
Comfortable Home Environment
Your baby feeds better at home. You communicate better at home. Virtual visits let us observe your natural feeding environment.
Easier for Postpartum Recovery
If you are recovering from a cesarean, experiencing postpartum pain, or simply exhausted — virtual care lets you get support without overdoing it physically.
Ideal for Follow-Up Visits
After an initial in-office visit, virtual follow-ups are a convenient way to check in, troubleshoot, and stay supported without making another trip.
Available Throughout California
We support families statewide — not just in Murrieta and the Inland Empire. If you are in California, you can access our care.
Your coverage
Most virtual visits are covered
by insurance
Under the Affordable Care Act, most insurance plans are required to cover lactation counseling as a preventive benefit — and that includes telehealth and virtual consultations. Many families pay nothing out of pocket.
We work with insurance plans across Riverside County and throughout California, and we assist with benefits verification before your first appointment so there are no surprises before you book.
Distance should not be a barrier to great lactation support. Whether you are in Murrieta, San Diego, Sacramento, or anywhere in between — we can help you access and use your insurance benefits for virtual care.

Our difference
Why families across California
choose us for virtual support
Expert, compassionate lactation care — delivered wherever you are, whenever you need it.
Midwife-Led Support
Our virtual care is led by a California Licensed Midwife, bringing deep clinical experience in postpartum care, milk production, and newborn feeding to every online consultation.
Nonjudgmental Care
Whatever your feeding situation looks like right now — we do not judge it. We meet you where you are and help you move forward without guilt, pressure, or shame.
Personalized Feeding Plans
Every virtual visit ends with a written, personalized care plan — not generic advice. Clear steps tailored to your baby, your body, and your goals.
All Feeding Journeys Supported
Breastfeeding, pumping, combination feeding, bottle feeding — all are welcome here. We support the journey you are actually on, not the one someone else thinks you should be on.
Real-World Experience
We have supported hundreds of California families through the real, unpredictable experience of feeding a newborn. Our guidance is grounded in clinical expertise and lived experience.
Compassionate Guidance
We understand how hard early feeding can feel. Every virtual visit is built around supporting you as a whole person — not just solving a feeding problem.
Common questions
Frequently asked questions
Are virtual lactation visits actually effective?
Yes — research consistently shows that virtual lactation support is highly effective for most feeding concerns. Being in your home environment can actually be an advantage, since we can observe how you naturally hold your baby, see your actual pump setup, and give guidance in the real context where feeding happens. Many families find virtual visits just as valuable as in-person — sometimes more so.
What technology do I need?
Just a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working camera and internet connection. That is it. No special apps, no complicated setup. You will receive a secure link before your appointment — click it and you are in. If you run into any technical issues before your visit, just reach out and we will help.
Can you really help with pumping virtually?
Absolutely. Pumping support is one of our most effective virtual services. We can watch you set up your pump, review your current settings, guide you through a flange fit check, observe a pumping session, and give you real-time adjustments. Many pumping issues — pain, low output, incorrect settings — are completely addressable over video. Visit our pumping support page for more detail.
Do you offer flange sizing virtually?
Yes. We can guide you through self-measurement of your nipple diameter and help you determine your correct flange size during a virtual visit. We will walk you through exactly what to measure and how to evaluate the fit — and if you need a different size, we will tell you exactly what to order and where to find it.
Is virtual lactation support covered by insurance?
Yes — for most families. Telehealth lactation visits are covered under the same ACA lactation benefit as in-person visits. We accept IEHP, Kaiser, Medi-Cal, UnitedHealthcare, Health Net, Blue Shield Promise, Community Health Group, Cigna, and most PPO and HMO plans. Verify your benefits here to confirm your telehealth coverage before booking.
Can I book a virtual visit before baby arrives?
Yes — and we encourage it. A prenatal lactation consultation done virtually is a great way to prepare before your baby arrives, learn the basics, set up your pump, and have a plan ready for the first days. It is one of the highest-value appointments we offer.
How soon after birth should I book?
As soon as you have a concern — do not wait. The earlier feeding challenges are addressed, the easier they are to resolve. We love to see families in the first 3 to 5 days after birth if possible. Virtual visits can often be booked same day or next day, so help is never far away.
