Breastfeeding is natural.
It is not always easy.

Nobody tells you how hard the first few days can be. The latch that will not quite work. The nipple pain that makes you dread every feeding. The constant worry about whether your baby is getting enough. The exhaustion that goes bone-deep at 3am.

Every baby is different. Every body is different. What worked for your sister or your best friend may not work for you — and that does not mean you are doing anything wrong. It means you need support that is personalized to you and your baby.

Research consistently shows that early lactation support dramatically improves breastfeeding outcomes — and more importantly, it dramatically reduces the stress, pain, and uncertainty that new parents feel in those first critical days and weeks.

You deserve care that meets you where you are, respects your feeding goals, and never makes you feel judged for asking for help.

"The moment you ask for help is the moment everything starts to get easier."
  • Breastfeeding challenges are common — and solvable
  • Pain is not something you should push through alone
  • Low supply concerns respond well to early intervention
  • A single visit can turn everything around
  • Your feeding goals are valid, whatever they look like
  • Support available in-office and virtually, 7 days a week
  • Most visits are covered by insurance at no cost to you

Most lactation visits are
covered by insurance

Under the Affordable Care Act, most insurance plans are required to cover lactation counseling and breastfeeding support as a preventive benefit — meaning no out-of-pocket cost for many families.

We work with a wide range of insurance plans serving Riverside County and Southern California. Our team will help you verify your benefits before your first appointment so there are no surprises.

You should not have to choose between feeding support and your budget.

Frequently asked questions

Is lactation support covered by insurance?

Yes — for most families. Under the Affordable Care Act, most insurance plans are required to cover lactation counseling as a preventive benefit at no out-of-pocket cost. We accept IEHP, Kaiser, Medi-Cal, UnitedHealthcare, Health Net, Blue Shield Promise, Community Health Group, Cigna, and most PPO and HMO plans. Verify your benefits here before booking.

When should I see a lactation consultant?

As soon as you have a concern — do not wait. The earlier feeding challenges are addressed, the easier they are to resolve. Ideally we love to see families within the first week after birth. But it is never too late, whether your baby is 3 days old or 3 months old.

Do you help with pumping?

Absolutely. Pumping support is one of our most common consultations — from flange sizing and pump settings to building a freezer stash and creating a schedule for returning to work. See our dedicated pumping support page for more detail.

Can I still get support if I formula feed or combination feed?

Yes, always. We support all feeding journeys without judgment. Whether you are combination feeding, exclusively pumping, supplementing with formula, or navigating a feeding transition, we are here to help you do it in a way that works for your baby and your life.

Do you offer virtual appointments?

Yes. Virtual lactation consultations are available 7 days a week and are ideal for follow-up care, pumping guidance, and families throughout California who cannot visit our Murrieta office. Verify your benefits to confirm your telehealth coverage.

How soon after birth should I book?

We recommend booking within the first 3 to 5 days after birth if you have any concerns at all. You can also book in advance before your due date so the appointment is ready to go when baby arrives.

Do you help with tongue tie concerns?

Yes. Tongue and lip tie concerns are among the most common issues we see. We can assess your baby's oral anatomy, discuss how it may be affecting feeding, and help you understand your options — including a referral to a provider who performs releases if appropriate.

You deserve feeding support that feels
safe, compassionate, and personalized.

Whether you are preparing for your first baby or struggling with feeding after birth, we are here to support you every step of the way — without judgment, without pressure, and without barriers.
